Neighborhood Watch Update

Greetings from the LA Sheriff’s Department

Officer Vince Ramirez introduced himself as the new representative from the LA County Sheriff’s Dept. and will act as our new community liaison Feel free to contact him with any issues you may have regarding our community that have not been resolved through field officers.

Officer Ramirez clarified some issues surrounding a “Neighborhood Watch Program” and it was discussed that we organize a Neighborhood Watch Committee through the DNA. The basic elements of which would entail recruiting block leaders and community members who live on each block to take an active role in crime prevention measures, such as reporting suspicious activity or persons and organizing block meetings. A formal Neighborhood Watch Program is the overall goal, but certain requirements need to be met. This item will be discussed at a future meeting.

Officer Ramirez’s contact info is: vrramirez@lasd.org or (310) 671-7531 x 5745.

Neighborhood Watch

Del Aire has been without an official, functioning Neighborhood Watch Organization for over 20 years. With the community’s involvement, theCommunity Advisory Community hopes to initiate starting one within Del Aire . The County will help facilitate us by providing literature etc. if we can put together a group of people that are willing to participate. When this happens, we will qualify for new “Neighborhood Watch” signs. Community involvement is crucial to maintaining our quality of life. Please contact us at dna@del-aire.info or call us at (310) 531-7111.
