Air Force
Base Development
Several members of
the Del Aire Neighborhood Association attended a meeting on April
24th to find out what is happening on the Air Force Base property
(property bound by El Segundo Blvd, Aviation Blvd, the 405 freeway
and the railroad tracks). As many of you may have noticed, things
are changing rapidly. Basic facts about the new project:

Demolition started on April 11th and
will be finished approximately in July or August 2006.

Grading and project begins after
demolition probably in August 2006.

It is a 625 unit gated community.
-
Units will range between 900 sq. ft. and
1800 sq. ft.—there will be town homes and condominiums from 1 to 3
stories.

Entrances on El Segundo Blvd & Isis and
off of Aviation (same as current Air Force Base entrances).
-
On site recreation centers, parks and
tot lots for residents—above required amount of on-site visitor
parking.

Developers aim to start selling these
home in the Spring of 2007.
The Del Aire
Neighborhood Association has set up communication with the developer
and is looking forward to having the developer attend our next
meeting so the Del Aire community can have an opportunity to ask
questions . . . so stay tuned!
